The Work and a Brief Bio

Diana Ackerman has been involved with textiles since her early childhood. She is a Third Generation Tailor who loves Fancy Work of all kinds and possesses an excellent eye for detail. A San Antonio/Austin, Texas resident and a Journeyman Seamstress, Diana is a Bride's Best Friend. She has many years of experience to help her clients breathe new life into a Vintage Gown or Embellish and Enhance your Modern Gown. Diana's specialty is Alterations: she has the requisite expertise to fit your modern figure, style and flair! Embellishments are a very important part of a Bride's ensemble and one of Diana's strongest points: from a few pearls to enhance a neckline or beaded custom embroidery work for the entire gown, she works one-on-one with her clients to design a special palette of Color and Elements to create your Personal Statement. The Threadbender also designs veils! Diana has created several original styles of veils from subtle and sublime to outrageous and ostentatious. She uses different fabric for her veils: tulle in nylon or silk, silk chiffon or silk organza. Many edges are also offered, from a cut edge to silk ribbon, a pencil edge, feathers or pearls.
